Rage, full of rage. Furious, Philip of Spain became. The Dutch revolt left him no other choice. Council of trouble, infamous as the council of blood.

Decisive intervention necessary. He choose the best commander fit for the job. He sent the iron duke on a mission. Respected by his troops, Alba led 10.000 marching feet. Capturing city after city with brutalities not ever been seen.

To set matters straight the council of troubles got instituted. Local jurisdiction overruled. The council of trouble shocked the Dutch politicians.

Within some years thousands were caught by this new tribunal. Sentenced to death or perpetual banishment. Grievously known as the council of blood. It didn’t hold back the Dutch revolt.

It had no use, and resulted only in growing hatred. De bloedraad. Only decades later to be abolished. De bloedraad, verdomd en gewraakt.
